Located south of Los Angeles, Huntington Beach is known for it’s miles of sandy beaches and surfing which inspired its nickname as Surf City, USA.

Looking at the image below, I was walking along the famous Pacific Coast Highway which runs through Huntington Beach. The area in the background is a large public parking area with the beach just beyond the lot. The bottom right corner of the image is a sculpture featuring a surfer.

Just beyond this point is the landmark Huntington Beach pier shown below at low tide with several lifeguard towers visible.

Opposite the beach and intersecting the Pacific Coast Highway is Main street. It’s no surprise that the anchor building for Main is packed with surfing-related stores.

The image below is a view several blocks inside Main street. It was early on Sunday morning so most places were closed. This area will soon be packed with people enjoying food, drinks, and shopping while enjoying a trip to the beach.

A block or two north of this street is the modest Huntington Beach International Surfing Museum.

The next few images below focus on the gorgeous pedestrian bridge crossing the Pacific Coast Highway and connecting the Hyatt Regency Resort to the beach.

Inside the resort, the mermaid fountain is an eye catcher. The pedestrian bridge is visible in the background.
